Everyone loves custom t-shirts, it allows you to wear your style literally!! That’s why when I went across the VistaPrint I fell in love with that place! They give you so many options to choose from and its great!! You can choose your t-shirt color, you can choose from their wide range on designs OR you can even upload your own design!! Well this settles it…I’m finally getting my Superman t-shirt made
Anyway, having said that, vista print, gives you an amazing experience when you’re creating your custom t-shirts online. When I ordered my t-shirt and received it, I was stunned by the print quality!! and all for just $13!! If you order in bulk, it goes all the way down to $9!! I was also impressed by their other services - logo desings, website design, Caricature Design and a whole lot more.
The one thing i really loved about vista print in the quality of the t-shirts too! top notch if you ask me. I do know most places where the prints are really good, but the quality of their t-shirts they sell are really bad! But not vista print! You know custom t-shirts make such great gifts…I can create gifts for mom, dad, sisters, bros, gramps and grandma and so on, customizing each of them to their tastes and preferences.
so what are you waiting for?? head on over there right now!!
The distinct difference between video games and film lies in the treatment of lesser known titles. In film, a hidden gem can become a cult hit and actually generate decent numbers; in gaming, being a hidden gem pretty much equates to financial ruin (Okami, Beyond Good and Evil, etc). But enough of this doom and gloom, because Glory Days 2 is a pretty exciting discovery.
At first glance, Glory Days 2 is a hard sell. The game is a hybrid of real time strategy and side-scrolling air combat, and, in terms of retail attractiveness, the box art is terrible. Nobody is going to walk into his/her local game store and immediately develop a desire to purchase the game. Because of the game’s hybridity, players who aren’t very good at multi-tasking should really think twice before purchasing this title; Glory Days 2 is a lot of things, but easy is certainly not one of them. Fortunately, the game packs an amazing experience for players who fancy a taste of something different and unique.
Given the game’s side scrolling perspective, imagining that it would would be so adept at producing combat situations of the same intensity as its 3D competitors is no small feat, and the fact that it accomplishes this so well is one of the game’s most pleasant surprises. The 2D graphics are detailed, and the animations are well drawn. The graphical style, while cartoony, does a great job of placing the player “in the shit.” The intensity ratchets up with the help of the DS dual screen functionality, and the top screen is where the actual gameplay takes place. The bottom screen offers the player another view of the battlefield which shifts its gaze onto wherever the most action is occurring. Since the player is responsible for both flying the aircraft and producing ground units, the bottom screen becomes that much more integral.
In returning to the issue of difficulty, Glory Days 2 is not a particularly forgiving game, and, unfortunately, controls represent one of the main culprits. The game offers two options for controlling its various vehicles - directional pad or touch screen. The touch screen works as a sort of broken mouse setup, but, with a little practice, players will most likely prefer it because of its fluidity. However, the biggest gripe involves the game’s system of purchasing ground units. The game expects the user to fly his/her aircraft while simultaneously purchasing units to fight the battle at the ground level (depicted on the bottom screen). In order to purchase these units, the stylus must move to a different portion of the touch screen which effectively takes control away from the aircraft and places it on the purchase panel. This is about as comfortable as driving with your knees while eating a subway sandwich. After growing a third arm, the game’s difficulty seems less intense.
Other than the woes of buying units, the various aircraft control pretty much like you would expect. Helicopters feel agile, and the player can pick up units and transport them around with the greatest of ease. Jets are a bit more challenging because of how much of a pain in the ass it is to land them; the game’s autopilot needs some work, and players will find themselves having to really babysit the whole process. Once again, this splits the player’s attention further.
Glory Days 2 features a LAN multiplayer mode with up to 8 players. Like any game, this would have benefitted from some true online play. Even without online, the battle mode can be played against computer opponents, and it is quite fun. Think of it as the skirmish mode that is found in pretty much every realtime strategy game.
Even though it probably won’t happen, I can’t wait for Glory Days 3. If they can fix some of the control issues (maybe add some voice control for the buy screen?), balance the difficulty a bit, and add online multiplayer, it would exist in the highest echelons of the Nintendo DS library. As it stands, it is a must buy for gamers who want to support something different. This game is fun - really fun. The dual screen functionality propels it beyond many other DS games with developers who feel that the bottom screen is merely an inconvenience or gimmick. I can confidently say that this game would not be the same without the 2nd screen, and I can’t say the same thing for the majority of other DS titles on the market. This game is a gem, and the player should vote with his/her dollar to bring other games like it to the market.
CDV and Akella must be big fans of movies like Top Gun and TV shows like BattleStar Galactica, because I just got done with another round of interstellar space piloting in their soon-to-be-released space saga, the Tarr Chronicles. The game moves at one speed, “all out” and puts you squarely in the middle of a pilot’s campaign I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy (and I mean that in a good way).
In the game, you play as a former convict who, because of piloting skills, is pushed back into action in order to continue the human races struggle to survive in a war torn future universe. The universe is made up of six races, all hell bent on keeping their share of the pie, the pie being a solar system that not only supports life, but allows it to flourish. Some of the aliens are incredibly hostile while others prefer more diplomacy, but all that get chucked out the window when a new threat “the Mirk” arrived on scene from right in the middle of everything and began tearing through every race, destroying all it touched and those who managed to survive, merely became one of the Mirk. The preview copy eludes to a sort of Borg-ish race (from Star Trek) that absorbs all life into its fold. One particularly nasty group of aliens called the Mea’ Tarrs sent their fiercest warriors after the Mirk, only to have them killed and re-animated fighting for the Mirk.
Interestingly enough, the preview copy had many of the back story in black and white, giving the game a definite story feel to it. The graphics at this point look really good too. The areas you fly are often riddled with decaying space stations and debris all over the place, giving the player a real sense of danger as the war between, well pretty much everyone has been going on for too long. I am particularly inclined to mention an earlier part of the game where I assisted in a dog fight between two other fighting races, siding with the lesser evil if you will. The graphics are really innovative and I honestly believe, accurate. Fighting in space would be incredibly difficult given all the blackness, a HUD can be activated as you fly, giving you an idea of exactly where your closest enemy is. Trust me, it is necessary. The constant maneuvering as you chase enemy fighters is really well done, one second you have a bead on your foe, only to chase him as he heads towards a bright star, blinding you temporarily. The lighting effects and use of darkness contrast really well, with all the action.
Tarr, at this point, really has a polished look and sound to it. The different characters you run across will flash in a small window at the top of your screen. You see who you are talking to, and in some cases, you have no idea what they are saying cause it is an alien language. There is a translation scrolling across the bottom to help you out. Still, I thought it was pretty cool to be in the middle of a fight and have my commander order me to destroy a particular ship or take off to a rendezvous point in order to protect a civilian ship carrying hundreds of passengers.
Tarr Chronicles has a strong back story to it, and that gives the game weight, as does your ability to choose which style of ship you want to have, the nimble and quick ship, the all-around warrior vessel or a flying tank, armed to the gills. You can even customize your own weapons load-out and ship stats. Reading your personal e-mail gives you an idea of who you are and where your character is going.
Don’t doubt for a minute this is merely a space shooter, there is controversy and back stabbing going on in the universe and you will get caught up in it. The game borrows from BattleStar Galactica in the sense that there are political forces working with and against you throughout the game. This is after all, six races who don’t get along, attempting to unite to fight off a common enemy. You wouldn’t think some of those races wouldn’t capitalize on another’s war machine being weakened now would you?
Either way, I liked this preview, and I liked the fact that it ran and looked good on one of our slower test machines ( AMD 2800+, 256mb graphics card 1 gig RAM.) Be on the lookout for the Tarr Chronicles, I suspect it will be a real treat.
Do u know who’s been reeeeaaaallly hot these days???!! It’s Ashley Force!! Not only is she hot, she’s FAST too..(not that kind of way you dung beetle!!)..anyway, after graduating from Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, she spent two seasons in the entry-level Super Comp class and three more in Top Alcohol Dragster before becoming just the 10th woman in NHRA history to earn a license to compete in the Funny Car division. In Top Alcohol, she won five NHRA national events including the biggest event in the sport, the 2004 U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis, Ind.
And get this : Ashley was a Top 10 finisher in national points in each of her three seasons in Top Alcohol Dragster. When she won the 2004 World Finals at Pomona, Calif., she shared the winners’ circle with her dad as the first father-and-daughter champions in the history of the NHRA series. Now, she has moved up to race against her father at the wheel of one of the most challenging vehicles on the planet, an 8,000 horsepower Funny Car.
Ashley is trying to become the first woman to advance to the final round in the Funny Car division, the first woman to win a race, the first to qualify No. 1 and the first to earn a Top 10 finish. Despite the fact that she chose “auto shop” and “welding” as two of her elective courses in high school, Ashley’s interest in the “family business” came as a compete shock to her father, 14-time NHRA Funny Car Champion John Force. Nevertheless, three years after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State-Fullerton, the former high school cheerleader is being hailed as a future star of the NHRA series and a possible successor to her father.
Despite the demands of her racing career, Ashley still finds time to indulge her passion for movie-making. Among her productions was “The Bi-Polar Express,” a takeoff on Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in which her father was cast as Ebenezer Scrooge.
