According to TechReport, Folks with newer Nvidia cards will get a treat if they grab Mirror’s Edge for the PC next year. Nvidia has revealed that the PC flavor of DICE’s free-running action game will support PhysX hardware acceleration. All you’ll need is a GeForce 8 or better graphics card, and you’ll be the envy of your console-using friends (you know, the ones who’ve already been playing the game for a week and counting). Here’s how Nvidia describes the PhysX enhancements: “With the NVIDIA PhysX physics engine, the world of Mirror’s Edge comes to life with real affects [sic] of wind, weapons impact, and in-game movements. Every-day objects within the game become part of the overall experience. Cloth, flags, and banners can now impact weapons and players; ground fog interacts with the player’s footsteps; explosions fill the air with smoke and debris; and weapon impacts are enhanced with interactive particles.

With the holiday season coming up, its that time of the year to look chic and flaunt what you’ve got! One of the most ignored parts of the body (don’t get naughty) is the eyes. That’s where Zenni Optical steps in!!

Get your eyes the best set of Holiday frames and literally turn eyes this season! One of the frames that I fell in love with was this:

How cool is this eh? Look at the design and the color combination! I loved it!!
For $12 you can’t go wrong with this great design!! It’s also available in red, burgundy and orange…all with the classy black thrown in for good measure!!
Ordering is pretty easy, but I would suggest that you go see your optician first, because you need to enter your eye functional metrics before ordering. Well in case you don’t have an issue with your sight, you can order straight off. Anyway, so I was saying,  ordering is pretty simple, just enter your prescription along with stuff like what color you want and if you want tints etc and you’re all set to go. I ordered mine just today and can’t wait for it to come by!!
So what are you waiting for??? Get trendy this holiday season now!!

s more and more Xbox 360 owners download the New Xbox Experience, more and more will begin performing full game installs. The feature, just one of several in the dashboard-redesigning, Avatar-imposing, top-to-bottom update, allows gamers to rip an entire game onto their Xbox 360 hard drive. With no spinning disc, the console’s high-speed DVD drive will fall silent, reducing the console’s infamous noisiness. (Note: The game disc must be inserted for authentication purposes, but does not have to spin.)

Another assumed benefit of full installs is improved load times, a very desirable upgrade in titles with many locations and saves such as Fallout 3. However, the makers of one massively popular hit are urging its millions of players to act counter-intuitively and not to rip games onto the 360’s HDD.

Today on the now-independent studio’s official Web site, Bungie chief caching officer Mat Noguchi posted a length explanation about why fully installing Halo 3 will lead to “significantly longer” load times.

“When Halo 3 runs, if a HDD is present, we copy maps from the DVD to the utility partition (on the HDD),” said the engineer. “Think of it as an on demand install of Halo 3 to some scratch space on the HDD. Halo 3 doesn’t actually know where it’s running from, so it always assumes it’s running from a DVD. …And as a result, it means that even if Halo 3 is already installed to the HDD, it will still copy maps to the utility partition.” Ipso facto, the load times increase.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like Bungie will have a patch ready soon–if ever–to fix the problem. “It would be a significant undertaking to try and retroactively patch/update Halo 3 to be optimized to take advantage of the HDD install features of NXE,” summarized Noguchi. “The risks of doing that and the resources required has to be carefully considered against what could really be a rather insignificant change to the player experience. For now our team is focused on making great games for the future like Halo 3: Recon and other unannounced projects but we will continue to monitor this situation.”

Between the five-for-one megacompilation better known as The Orange Box and the $100, 22-game Complete Pack, Valve knows a thing or two about giving gamers a good deal. With the release of the original Half-Life 10 years ago to the day, Valve is once again relying on its proven bargain-hunter strategy by practically giving the hallmark shooter away.

Valve has announced that beginning today, gamers can purchase the original Half-Life through its online distribution service Steam for $0.98. For the record, that’s a $9.01 savings over Valve’s previous asking price of $9.99. The offer is good until 12:01 p.m. PST on November 21.

A seminal first-person shooter in its own right, Valve’s Half-Life won more than 50 Game of the Year awards upon its release in 1998 and spawned a franchise that would go on to sell in excess of 20 million units. The game has also been named one of GameSpot’s Greatest Games of All-Time, thanks in large part to the way it told its story, as well as the now-standard use of scripted events. Oh, and a lot of people thought it wasn’t a half-bad shooter, either.

Wanna know what happened?

a Texas jury this week found the PlayStation Portable and a smattering of the company’s other electronics in violation of an Agere Systems patent for storing headers in music files on a memory chip. As reported by the Tyler Morning Telegraph, the jury found that Sony willfully infringed on the patent, and it awarded Agere compensatory royalties of $18.5 million.

When the suit was originally filed in March of 2006, it included infringement claims for seven other patents, with the slate of complaints being whittled down over the intervening years. Also since the filing of the suit, Agere Systems has ceased to exist, having merged with silicon and software tech firm LSI Corporation in 2007.

Sony is no stranger to the penalties of patent infringement. In 2005, a judge ordered Sony to fork over $90 million to Immersion Corporation for infringing on patents the company holds in creating the vibration function of its DualShock controllers for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2. While Sony opted to leave rumble out of its original Sixaxis PlayStation 3 controller, it eventually repaired its bridges with Immersion and licensed the technology for the DualShock 3.

here’s the latest GameSpot update:

We’ve been keeping tabs on Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe since the game was announced earlier this year amid a healthy dose of skepticism from MK and comics fans alike. The ensuing months have seen those fans won over as more information on the roster and fighting mechanics have trickled out. With just a few weeks left before release, Midway is finally taking the wraps off the final piece of the game’s puzzle: the story. Ed Boon and crew stopped by our offices earlier today to let us check out a near-final version of the game, which featured the entire roster. Most importantly, we got to see how the game’s narrative is going to sell anyone surviving a punch to the face from Superman.

Our first order of business was to scope out the story mode, so skip down a ways if you’re concerned about spoilers. Aside from offering up the basic premise–the MK and DC universes are being mashed together due to some cataclysmic magical event–until now Midway has been dead silent on what’s going on. The game will offer two story experiences: the MK side and the DC side. We started with the DC story, which caught up to Superman in Metropolis as he was in the process of mopping the floor with Darkseid. The game’s introductory cinematic is narrated by the Man of Steel as he brings you up to speed on what’s been going on. Following Darkseid’s beatdown, Lex Luthor popped up and bantered with the Son of Krypton. In true comic fashion, the stone-faced and ill-tempered ruler of Apokolips began to escape via one of his boom tubes when Superman zapped him with some heat vision, creating a mysterious disruption to the portal and causing Darkseid to awkwardly warp away.

We’ve talked about this at length just last week with a couple of buddies and yes, everyone loves the idea of an RTS based on the HALO Universe.

What’s the deal?

Halo Wars kicks off 20 years before the events in Halo: Combat Evolved on a planet in the Epsilon Indi star system called Harvest. You’re immediately introduced to some of the key characters from the Halo universe, including Captain Cutter of the Spirit of Fire and Serina, who takes Cortana’s place from Halo as the ship’s holographically constructed AI system. (don’t u just love saying halo this, halo that)…anyway, Sporting a cap and smoking a cigar, Captain Cutter comes across more grizzled, less diplomatic, but equally as decisive as Captain Keyes from Halo. We also met a few other crew members: Professor Anders, a young female scientist whose exact role on the Fire isn’t clear, and Sergeant Forge, who plays the heroic battle-scarred veteran. We didn’t see a lot of Serina, except a few short conversations with Cutter, as well as a brief spat between her and Anders. Tension on the ship? We’ll have to wait and see.

Here’s a sneak peak of what it looks like:

Drool Fool Drool!
